Immigration bill to be ready by Labor Day
by Associated Press (July 8th, 2009

WASHINGTON – The lead Democrat steering an immigration
overhaul through the Senate said Wednesday he expects to have a
bill ready by Labor Day that is more generous to highly skilled
immigrant workers than those who are lower skilled and is tough on
future waves of illegal immigration.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Sen. Chuck Schumer
said an immigration bill can be done by the end of the year or
early next year that works out disagreements between labor and
business interests on the flow of legal foreign workers.

“I think we’ll have a good bill by Labor Day,” said Schumer,
D-N.Y. “I think the fundamental building blocks are in place to do
comprehensive immigration reform.”

Schumer said the way to get the bill done is to be very tough on
future waves of illegal immigration. He declared himself
pro-immigration and said the U.S. should encourage legal
immigration and find some kind of path for people now here to find
a way to legal citizenship….

  1. This post is right on! My hot topic is also amndesty. These criminals should not be rewarded with a US citizenship. At best give them green cards. I have lived here with a greencard for close to 40 years.
These people should not be voting – this idea of amnesty for them makes me sick and furious that they even think of doing it.
I’ll follow up on all the places to write and FAX.
    Great post!! So little time!!

  2. This amnesty deal that he is trying to make citizens of these criminals MUST NOT happen – I am so pissed off. I came here as an immigrant with a greencard because I married a US citizen. I had to wait 5 years before I could get citizenship so I never got around to it LOL
So why should some criminal get there before someone who is most likely a mother or a father to a US citizen before their 5 year wait is up.
Did you read about the Russian mother, Nina Reiser, who was murdered by her husband. She might not have been murdered if she was a citizen. The couple were in the process of getting divorced before she got citizenship and they had a bitter fight over their kids. I think if someone like that has children then they should get citizenship before the 5 year wait is up. It creates all sorts of problems otherwise for custody. I dont remember if Nina would have had to leave USA because her marriage ended. I think that the 5 year waiting period is in place to prevent fake marriages as a way to beat immigration.

  3. Great post.

  4. The age-old pesky U.S.-Mexico border problem has taxed the resources of both countries, led to long lists of injustices, and appears to be heading only for worse troubles in the future. Guess what? The border problem can never be solved. Why? Because the border IS the problem! It’s time for a paradigm change.

Never fear, a satisfying, comprehensive solution is within reach: the Megamerge Dissolution Solution. Simply dissolve the border along with the failed Mexican government, and megamerge the two countries under U.S. law, with mass free 2-way migration eventually equalizing the development and opportunities permanently, with justice and without racism, and without threatening U.S. sovereignty or basic principles.

  5. Tell Chuckie Schmukie Shumer we don’t want him either, along with Pelosi, Feinstein, Boxer, Frank, Maxine Waters, Dick “Turbin” Chris Dodd, they should be deported at the same time for un American activity.

  6. Like president Franklin Delano Roosevelt, I start this address with “Fellow Immigrants:” Why the hate when most of us are descendants of illegal immigrants? Are you scarred that what happened to the Native Americans will happen to you? Show me an immigrant hater, and I will show you someone on welfare. The mayor of New York, Mr. Bloomberg, is not scarred of immigrants; but then, he is not on welfare.
