Biblical Prophecy in Light of Current World Events

Biblical Prophecy In Light of Current Events

Independence Day celebrations mark the birth of the United States of America, an experiment that has been very successful in many different ways. Many Christians say that the reason for America’s prosperity is due to their support for world evangelism. The United States has been the launch pad for worldwide missions, spreading the gospel to a needy world.
The other reason given for America’s success is that we have protected the Jewish state of Israel for the many years of its existence, keeping the Jewish people from total elimination by its enemies. These two reasons, at the least, have played a role in bringing the United States to where it is today; but where is the United States in Bible prophecy?

Jimmy’s Prophetic Prospective on the News
The question of America’s place in Bible prophecy does have an answer.

“Where is America in Bible prophecy?” That is the most asked question in any “Prophecy Question and Answer” time. I am always asked this question when I open up to inquiring people.

Once in a “Prophecy Question and Answer” time someone told me that they knew, so I asked “Where?”

They said, “Jerusalem.”

I asked them to explain, and they spelled out the word Jerusalem.

“J – e – r – U – S – A – l – e – m”, to which everybody laughed.

As I thought about the answer though, I believe that it is correct, the only place in Bible prophecy that I see the possibility of the mention of the United States or an illusion to the United States is in Zechariah 14:2.

Zechariah revealed that at the time of the end all of the armies of the world would gather at Jerusalem, under the leadership of Satan, Anti-Christ, and the False Prophet – there to confront Jesus Christ on His return to the Mount of Olives from where He departed some 2,000 years ago. If America survives the 7 year Tribulation Period, their army would join the other armies of the world at Jerusalem.

America today is great because the backbone of this nation is made up of true, Bible believing, born-again Christians. When the Christians leave this world at the Rapture of the Church, which could happen at any moment, the most powerful nation in the world will most likely fall from it’s power base.

America’s spiritual decline, in the present, will result in a power decline in the future. Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.

  1. Great post/blog. Adding you to my BR. Will be back often.

  2. I believe that America is mentioned in Rev 12:14(Wings of a great Eagle) and Dan.7:4

    • Dennis, a blogger friend and I were and are talking now about these exact versus. Thank you!

The anti-christ will never ever overcome Petra Jordan (Sela) which is where the Israelites will run and hide and be protected from the anti-christ.

      v. 6 of Rev 12 says and “they” shall feed her and we are wondering if that is the USA? (helping Israel)

  3. Like Israel, America may have to experience devastation to purify the remnant. In fact, Israel believed its status as God’s chosen nation would protect it from hardship and the false prophets declared that God would not allow anything to happen to the nation. The people believed that right up to the moment they were overrun by the enemy.

One clear principle in scripture is the Law of Accountability: to whom much is given, much is demanded (Lk 12:48). God has blessed America generously. Are we using what he gave us to advance God’s kingdom or to satisfy our appetites? America has squandered much of God’s blessing on self-indulgence.

My opinion is that America does not play a significant role in end-time prophecy, which means it must fall from world influence.

    • Hello John, I am in totally agreement on many things you say here; I do believe that America (by electing Obama) is getting what they deserve, actually not because we (as Americans) deserve much worse. Yes, I agree with your analogy on the blessings America has received, what are we doing with that blessing? Some, I will agree are using it wisely to further the kingdom of God and many are caving in to fleshly appetites, “…the mind is strong, but the flesh is weak…” (I resemble that scripture myself).

  4. WarrantOneGirl,
I just can’t imagine what you said is true. However the Word says there is non perfect no not one. The Word also says there is now no condemnaton in the Lord. If God does not condem any one why should they condem themselves. I used to know some folks as close to perfect and they called themselves old dirty rags.
God didn’t make no junk. Satan comes but to kill still and destroy, spirit of fear and guilt comes from him.
Oops didn’t mean to get preachy. Sorry
If that is you in the picture above, you are too pretty to resemble that picture if I may so.

    • ok, preachy? I got your preachy! I know and agree with all that you say too. But the scripture also says, “…even our best are filthy rags…” well, I think of this scripture on buying or working our way into heaven (can’t be done), in other words there is nothing so great we can do to earn our salvation, “it is free, a gift from God and the scripture also says we should “…work out your salvation…” No, that is not me in the picture.

  5. Which picture are you talking about, I am confused. The picture above is not you?
You are right is free you cannt do anything to earn it, conversely you cannot do anything to loose it.

  6. Gosh, I wrote you a pretty good reply and lost it so suffice it to say I agree with you butconversely you can’t do anything to lose it.
I am confuesd if that is not you in the picture above!
The last sentence of my previous post I made a typo.

It should have read; your too pretty to resemble that scripture, Sorry. Actually in reality I guess every one kinda resembles that scripture.

  7. DAVID LETTERMAN’S HATE, ETC. !

David Letterman’s hate is as old as some ancient Hebrew prophets.
Speaking of anti-Semitism, it’s Jerry Falwell and other fundy leaders who’ve gleefully predicted that in the future EVERY nation will be against Israel (an international first?) and that TWO-THIRDS of all Jews will be killed, right?
Wrong! It’s the ancient Hebrew prophet Zechariah who predicted all this in the 13th and 14th chapters of his book! The last prophet, Malachi, explains the reason for this future Holocaust that’ll outdo even Hitler’s by stating that “Judah hath dealt treacherously” and “the Lord will cut off the man that doeth this” and asks “Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother?”
Haven’t evangelicals generally been the best friends of Israel and persons perceived to be Jewish? Then please explain the recent filthy, hate-filled, back-stabbing tirades by David Letterman (and Sandra Bernhard and Kathy Griffin) against a leading evangelical named Sarah Palin, and explain why most Jewish leaders have seemingly condoned Palin’s continuing “crucifixion”!
While David, Sandra, and Kathy are tragically turning comedy into tragedy, they are also helping to speed up and fulfill the Final Holocaust a la Zechariah and Malachi, thus helping to make the Bible even more believable!
